BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

David Ndayisenga
PROTAIS 'DAVID' NDAYISENGA (President)

Despite his own plans, God led David to open Kingdom Gate in 2016. He is a husband to Christine and a father to three beautiful children. Prior to starting Kingdom Gate, David was a primary school teacher at a local private school. While in YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School) during 2008, God laid it on his heart to start working with the local community in Rwanda.

David has a passion to empower the people around him to be leaders in their families. He does this through the different ministries within Kingdom Gate. He wants to help the children get an education, but more than anything, he wants to see these families come out of poverty and lead strong, confident lives for Christ.

Susan Tjernagel
Susan Tjernagel (Vice President)

Susan is married to Scott, and they have 3 grown children and 9 grandchildren. She taught first grade for 16 years. Her and her husband pastor River City Vineyard Community Church in New Braunfels, Texas. Susan works part-time as a Peer Support Specialist in the mental health field.

Her first trip to Kigali was in 2011 which bonded her heart to Christine and David, the community, and the land of Rwanda.

Phil Jones
PHIL JONES (Secretary)

Phil has been a friend of Kingdom Gate since he very first visited in 2014, while David was still building the school. Meeting the local children and families in the area, Phil felt had a strong sense what God wanted to do in this community and felt stirred to partner with Him. He now spends as much time at Kingdom Gate as possible, but mostly aiding in communications from his home in the UK. Phil brings pastoral wisdom to the table, as well as a heart to see the people of Busanza empowered to be great in their nation.

Day-to-day Phil works with The King’s Arms Project, a ministry working with the entrenched homeless in his his home town of Bedford.
